It’s been a long held passion of mine to make cheese the old-fashioned way… from scratch. I know, when I have my cheese making fantasy, it occurs in my right-brain and the work seems effortless and easy, but occasionally my left-brain interrupts to contradict the illusion. Surely making cheese can’t be that easy?
Well, if Debra Amrein-Boyes from “The Farm House Natural Cheeses” has any say in the matter, making cheese is not impossible for the uninitiated. In her book “200 Easy Homemade Cheese Recipes” she makes a compelling case for budding cheese mongers like myself. Debra presented an informative evening of education and tasting at Barbara-Jo’s Books to Cooks in Vancouver on May 7th.
